UPDATED Season Listing 2017-2018

As well as the normal schedule of concerts, and in addition to returning to Birmingham Royal Ballet for Nutcracker, a contemporary double bill and La Fille ma Gardee, Jonathan is looking forward to making his debut with Scottish Ballet in a revival of Matthew Bourne's Highland Fling

Haffner Orchestra

Jonathan is thrilled to begin his tenure as Music Director of the Haffner Orchestra in Lancaster. A community event on the 14th October will be followed by the first concert on the 11th November, featuring Gina McCormack playing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, as well as Mendelssohn's Scottish Symphony

Updated 2016-2017 Season

Jonathan is delighted to have been invited back to conduct performances of Nutcracker and Cinderella for Birmingham Royal Ballet, as well as returning for a triple bill with Rambert Dance Company at Sadler's Wells and on tour. Other highlights of the 2016-2017 season include visits to China and work at the Royal Ballet, Covent Garden.


Updated Concert Listing for 2016

Jonathan is delighted to be continuing his relationship with Rambert Dance Company by conducting their Spring Tours to Aberdeen & Mold. Jonathan will also be returning to China in the summer to work with the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra as their Principal Guest Conductor.


Jonathan appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra

Jonathan made his Chinese debut earlier in July with the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra in a programme of Beethoven, Mozart & Dvorak. He is pleased to announce that he has accepted their invitation to become their Principal Guest Conductor from the new season, and will be returning in 2016 in a series of classical & pop concerts.

Jonathan appointed Principal Conductor of the Manchester Chamber Choir

Conducting Fellowship with Birmingham Royal Ballet & Rambert Update

Jonathan made his debut as the BBC Performing Arts Conducting Fellow with the Birmingham Royal Ballet this May in the company's Southern Midscale tour, conducting the Royal Ballet Sinfonia in works by Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky & Glen Buhr. He will be making his debut with Rambert at the Lowry, Salford, as well as conducting 'First Steps' performances of Swan Lake with BRB.

BBC Performing Arts Fellowship

Jonathan has been given a BBC Performing Arts Fellowship for the year 2015 in support of his work with the Birmingham Royal Ballet & Rambert Dance Company. 


Conducting Fellowships

Jonathan has been appointed Conducting Fellow of the Birmingham Royal Ballet and Rambert Dance Company, and will be working closely with the two companies in 2015 in a variety of shows and tours.
